Establish the Essentials of the Gender Equality Education Committee of NKUHT

1. These essentials are established according to Articles 6 and 9 of the Gender Equality Education Act to promote genuine gender equality, eliminate gender discrimination, maintain personal dignity, and emphasize and establish education resources and environments for gender equality.
2. In order to promote gender equality education, this university has organized the Gender Equality Education Committee (hereinafter referred to as this committee) according to these essentials to implement the following tasks:
(1) Integrate related resources of related units, draw up the gender equality education implementation plan, and carry out and inspect its implementation results.
(2) Plan or handle gender equality education related activities for students, teacher, staff and paterfamilias.
(3) Research, develop and promote the course, teaching and evaluation of gender equality education.
(4) Draw up the gender equality education implementation methods and sexual harassment prevention regulations to establish a system and coordinate and integrate related resources.
(5) Investigate and dispose cases related to the Gender Equality Education Act.
(6) Plan and establish a safe campus space enabling gender equality.
(7) Promote gender equality related family education and social education in communities.
(8) Other affairs regarding gender equality education in both the university and the community.
3. This committee includes 15~20 commissioners, including the schoolmaster as director commissioner, as well as a director secretary, dean of the academic affairs office, dean of the student affairs office, dean of the general affairs office, director of the general education center, chairman of further education promotion college and director of the personnel office all as guaranteed committee members. The committee applies the tenure system, must include more than 1/2 female members, and hires teacher representatives, staff representatives, and student representatives having consciousness of gender equality, as well as experts and scholars in the related field of gender equality education as its committee members.
4. This committee has established the following groups to promote and plan related business.
(1) Administrative organizing and operating group (the chief secretary is the convener):
1. Budget according to laws to promote gender equality education.
2. Coordinate and integrate all units of the university together to promote the annual gender equality education plan.
3. Plan the promotion of gender equality education concepts.
4. Supervise and assess the implementation of gender equality education.
5. Establish awarding methods to promote gender equality education.
6. Plan and handle training for teaching staff about gender equality education.
7. Other comprehensive affairs related to gender equality education.
(2) Learning environment resources and teaching group (the dean of the academic affairs office is the convener):
1. Budget according to laws to promote gender equality education.
2. Establish encouraging measures for gender equality education courses.
3. Plan and promote multiple courses and teaching research on gender equality education.
4. Compile the budget subsidy to research and develop gender related courses and programs.
5. Compile the budget to encourage the department centers to open gender related courses and programs.
6. Establish a gender research related teaching unit or research center.
7. Compile the budget to support the operation of a gender related teaching unit or research center.
8. Establish the talent tank of gender research related teachers and researchers.
9. Other courses and teaching affairs related to gender equality education.
10. Encourage teachers and students to make gender related research planning or service promotion.
11. Make gender related research plan or service promotion.
12. Subsidize teachers and students to participate in international/ cross-university academic conferences on gender research.
13. Encourage the teaching staff to participate in activities promoting gender equality.
14. Encourage or subsidize teachers and students to organize gender research related academic groups.
15. Handle promotional gender equality related activities.
(3) Group for the prevention and disposition of campus gender incidents and sexual assault or sexual harassment (the dean of the student affairs office is the convener):
1. Compile budget according to laws to promote gender equality education.
2. Establish campus sexual assault or sexual harassment prevention regulations to clarify the disposition procedure and post the regulations.
3. Provide professional human support for the disposition of campus sexual assault or sexual harassment incidents.
4. Provide administrative manpower support for the disposition of campus sexual assault or sexual harassment incidents.
5. Provide budget assistance for the disposition of campus sexual assault or sexual harassment incidents.
6. Carry out and track the decision on punishment and assistance for the people involved.
7. Encourage university members to participate in training for related incident investigation and disposing personnel organized by the Ministry of Education.
8. Plan and handle campus sexual assault or sexual harassment prevention advocacy.
9. Encourage schoolmates to participate in and contribute to gender related incident investigation.
10.Other affairs related to the prevention of campus sexual assault or sexual harassment.
(4) Campus cultural environment and community promotion group (the dean of the general affairs office is the convener):
1. Compile budget according to laws to promote gender equality education.
2. Regularly and irregularly examine campus safety facilities.
3. Hold public hearings and campus safety work conferences, as well as other such activities.
4. Inspect and improve the current hardware facilities in order to improve campus safety (including the indication of dangerous sources, security systems, rescue systems and lighting systems).
5. Other campus safety affairs related to gender equality.
5. This committee appoints an executive secretary to handle related business of this committee under the guidance of the director commissioner.
6. The committee members and the executive secretary are both no-salary posts with tenure of 1 year.
7. This committee should employ consultants to provide advisory services and assist with the important business mentioned in Item 2.
8. In response to an incident or to implement the important business mentioned in Item 2, this committee can establish project groups, of which the group host shall be designated by the director committee. The needed budget and personnel signature shall be supported by related business units.
9. In principle, the committee meetings shall be held once every semester; if necessary, additional meetings shall be held.
10. These essentials shall be implemented after passed by the staff meeting, and so shall any revision.
